We have been dying to share this experience with the IjeWorks Community.
Yay! The IjeWorks team was in the legendary town of Ile-Ife, Osun state in August. It was an exciting trip! Can you still feel my residual happiness? Please, say yes! (winks)
On Thursday, August 13, 2020, the Ijeworks team went on a trip to Ile-Ife in Osun state. The purpose of the trip was to cover the Inauguration of the Ooni of Ile-Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi as Chairman of the BSTAN group.
After a 5 hour trip from Lagos (thanks to draining Lagos traffic), we finally got to Ile-Ife.
Ile-Ife is a place that is delicately balanced between its rich heritage and a city of over 700,000 people. It’s a part 3D museum of heritage sites and a hub of commercial activities.
The crew stayed at the Ife grand resort which was highly recommended by the Ooni of Ife, where we ate and rested for a few hours. We set out to cover the 2-day event which eventually turned into 3 days because we couldn’t just get enough of the Culture of the place.
Fortunately, We only toured the Ooni of Ile-Ife Palace where we saw firsthand the awards and the abode of the Ife royalty because of the short time frame.
Ile-Ife is definitely a place the IjeWorks team would like to visit again.
